IUI#4

IUI#4 is officially done! SO many amazing blessings that came with this IUI, I'm going to be using a lot of exclamation points so consider yourself forewarned! :)

I'll just start at the beginning. We knew that there was a 99% possibility that David would be out of town for this IUI. We took some preventative measures and banked, assuming he would be gone when we do the IUI. For those who have never done it, banking is bad news for the count. It can pretty much cut the numbers in half, so we knew that it wasn't going to be a pretty option. But we also didn't want to wait until April to finally start treatments, so we just threw our hands in the air and went for it.

I was scheduled to have an ultrasound done today actually, but I just had a hunch that I should go in earlier. With our last IUI, I ovulated waaay early (for me anyway), on CD13.  I thought...well it happened before, it could happen again. So I made a last minute ultrasound appointment on Tuesday, late afternoon.

We got the most wonderful news!!!!

First, Dr. B said I was smart to come in early because it looks like I was indeed going to ovulate early! Yeah!!! So he recommended we go ahead and trigger because the follicles were at 22mm and 27mm. Yes that's right, TWO of them! AND they are both on my right side where I still have a remaining tube! I was sooo worried that everything would be on my left side and we wouldn't be able to do anything because I no longer have a tube on my left side.

And the best news of all, David was still in town!!!! He left town at 8:30 this morning and we had the IUI scheduled for 8am. Whoa!! Technically the IUI wasn't until like 9 or so because Dr. B was running behind. So I had to go this one alone again, but that's ok, we texted the whole time haha!

I just can't believe that everything worked out so well. From having 2 follicles to ovulating early (indication of good egg health) to David being in town to having my favorite nurse perform the IUI....it's all just such a blessing.

Now we just need prayers that this positive momentum to continue on for the next 2 weeks. ;) And while you're praying, say a prayer for David who will be doing some backcountry skiing in Jackson Hole this week. He's an incredible skier, I'm not worried about that.. but I am worried about avalanches and grizzly bears ;)
For tradition's sake, I had to take another picture for IUI#4! :)

I'm torn between DELIGHT at this good news and raging jealousy at how good you look in your picture. Goodness gracious, girl, it's an IUI for pity's sake. At least rumple your hair or something to make me feel better!!

Hi friends! Here you'll find my chronicles of finding my way through 3+ years of infertility, decorating and settling into our new home, being a loving wife, running a photography business and probably pictures from trips around Colorado. Through it all I follow hard after Jesus and try my hardest to stay hopeful, humble and grateful for this beautiful life!
