Ah this post is making me happy even before I write it! :)
First, 10 years ago this week I became a Christian! Crazy to think that it's been a decade already. I was a bit...lost in my teenage years. I did a lot of stuff I regret, hung out with a lot of people I shouldn't have and lived a life that I wasn't proud of. When I went to college, I wanted a change. I wanted to start my life over and become friends with people who didn't drag me down. Those people turned out to be Christians. Personally, I was indifferent to God and religion and whatnot, but these people were kind, and they didn't do drugs and they didn't drag me down. After a year and a half of hanging out with them, they invited me to a big conference in Denver put on by Campus Crusade for Christ.
That conference changed my life. I can't remember the words I heard or the songs that were sung or the activities we did, but I do remember a night when it all finally made sense. 18 months of hearing my friends talk about Jesus and forgiveness, redemption, hope, salvation, love and mercy had finally caught up with me. The skies didn't open or anything like that, but I had the most life changing moment. With my eyes closed, sitting in a dark room filled with thousands of other people. I prayed that Jesus would forgive me for the life I had been living and asked that He would direct my steps for the rest of my life.
And from that moment on, my life was different.
About 4 days after that, I met a boy with blue eyes. I was attending a Crusade meeting on campus the first week back of 2nd semester my sophomore year. I was asked to be the greeter at the door, welcoming everyone who walked in to our meeting. Mostly I saw familiar faces, friends and staff members that I'd been at the conference with. And then in walked David.... I said hello and we made some small talk about music and skiing and school. Before I knew it, we were the only two people left in the room. He walked me back to my dorm and as I shut the door behind me, I told my roommate "I met him. I met the man I'm going to marry." He called me the next day to see if I wanted to go skiing and we've been together ever since!

The past 10 years have been the happiest of my life. I wake up every day grateful for this new life of mine. I have 10 years of grace under my belt. 10 years of memories and adventures. 10 years of daily kisses, bear hugs, laughter and love. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! :)
